Designed for the style conscious who have an aversion to all things "baby looking". I admit, I bought this in charcoal grey because it's not an eyesore, and I thought it looked cool. There are several things wrong with this design. First of all it does NOT conserve floor space. It's a marketing gimmick worded to make you think it does. It's the same square on the floor as any other play pen, and since the corners of it actually stick outward, it takes up more room because you can't push it up against a wall. So it actually takes up MORE floor space. Another thing is that the mattress does not lay flat. It warps up in the middle and the toys just roll off to the sides. ( I did contact customer service about it and they're shipping me a new mattress - nice.) The moon room looks like it would be fun for your child, but when your child is playpen age, I assure you the child will not care whether it's a box, or different shape.
