I bought two of these cribs to have here at Grandma's house. I carefully studied different cribs, and their reviews, and decided that this was the best choice for our situation. One of the two cribs arrived with an area of significantly damaged paint, (I touched it up as best as I could). The other was fine as far as the paint goes. Both cribs had a bit of damage to the pressed wood floor of the crib ~ banged up corners. At some point I will paint these pieces in hopes of making them a bit more durable. It will be a bit hard for me, at 5' 2" to reach down into the crib to change the bedding... but if no dropside and close together bars that you can't reach through is what makes modern cribs more safe, so be it. I am happy with my choice of cribs... If I had it to do over again, I would make the same choice.
