Something to consider
This mattress is wonderful - firm and you can feel the quality at every inch. the cover is nicely removable. The "pebbles" are firm. I tried to breath through it as you are supposed to be able to, and amazingly I could. That is primarily why I purchased this mattress - for the SIDS / breathing advantage.
But I live in NYC and there's a bed bug scare all over, and my building advocated bed bug encasements for all mattresses. Do realize that if you want to use any kind of protective cover - including a basic waterproof pad that many, many people use on crib mattresses, that this gets in the way of the breathability. Before you spend this extra money, think about whether you are sure you won't want to use a waterproof pad or an insect/bug encasement. If you don't need those things or don't care about the breathability, great!
Overall, I probably would not have bought this mattress if I had realized that I'd be covering it. As I debated the price, I justified...
